Terms of Use & Software License
Effective September 24, 2026 · Last updated September 24, 2026
These terms govern your use of stratapetroleum.net (the “Site”) and, for authorized Strata personnel, the Strata Ops application (the “Application”). Both are operated by Strata Petroleum, LLC (“Strata,” “we,” “us”). By using the Site or the Application you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.
1. What this Site is
The Site describes Strata’s business of purchasing oil and gas mineral rights and lets you ask us for an offer. Information on the Site is general and for your convenience only.
Nothing on this Site is an offer to purchase your minerals. An offer from Strata exists only when we make it to you specifically, in writing, and it is binding only through a signed purchase and sale agreement. Submitting the request form does not obligate you to sell or obligate us to buy.
2. We are not your advisor
Strata is a buyer of mineral interests. We are not your attorney, accountant, financial advisor, or fiduciary, and nothing on this Site or said by our personnel is legal, tax, accounting, investment, or engineering advice. A sale of mineral rights is a permanent transfer of real property with tax consequences. You should consult your own attorney and tax advisor before selling. Our interests as the buyer and yours as the seller are not the same, and we encourage you to get independent advice.
3. Information you submit
When you submit the request form or send us documents, you agree that:
- The information is accurate to the best of your knowledge;
- You have the right to share the documents you upload;
- You are not uploading anything you are contractually or legally barred from disclosing; and
- You give us permission to use what you send to research your ownership, value the interest, prepare an offer, and, if we reach an agreement, complete the purchase.
You keep ownership of everything you send us. We handle it as described in our Privacy Policy.
Our records of title, ownership, and valuation are our own work product. Sharing an offer or a summary with you does not give you rights in our underlying research, models, or data.
4. Acceptable use
Please do not use the Site to submit false or fraudulent information, impersonate someone else, submit requests on behalf of an owner without authority, upload malicious files, scrape or harvest the Site by automated means, attempt to gain access to systems or data you are not authorized to reach, or interfere with the Site’s operation. We may decline to respond to, and may remove, any submission for any lawful reason.
5. Our content
The Site’s text, design, logos, photographs, and the Strata Petroleum name are owned by Strata or licensed to us, and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may view and print pages for your own use in evaluating a potential sale. You may not otherwise copy, republish, or use them commercially without our written permission.
6. License to the Strata Ops Application
This section is the end‑user license agreement for the Application. It applies only to people authorized by Strata to use it.
The Application is private, internal business software. It is not sold, distributed, licensed, or made available to the public, to customers, or to any third party, and no license to it is offered to anyone outside Strata.
- Grant. Strata grants each authorized user a personal, non‑exclusive, non‑transferable, revocable license to use the Application solely to perform work for Strata, subject to these terms and to Strata’s internal policies.
- Ownership. The Application, its source code, and the data in it are Strata’s property. This license transfers no ownership.
- Accounts. Access is tied to your Strata Google Workspace account. You may not share credentials, let anyone else use your account, or attempt to access data outside the permissions assigned to your role.
- Confidentiality. The Application contains confidential business information — ownership records, valuations, financing terms, seller information, and accounting data. You may not disclose it outside Strata, or use it for any purpose other than Strata’s business.
- Restrictions. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, extract data in bulk, or create derivative works from the Application except as your job requires and Strata authorizes.
- Termination. This license ends automatically when your authorization or engagement with Strata ends, or when Strata revokes it. On termination you must stop using the Application and return or destroy any Strata data in your possession.
7. Third‑party services
The Application connects to third‑party services that Strata uses to run its business, including Intuit QuickBooks Online and Google Cloud. Those providers are not parties to these terms, make no warranties to you under them, and have no liability under them. Your use of those services through the Application is also subject to their own terms. Strata’s connection to QuickBooks Online accesses only Strata’s own company data, as described in our Privacy Policy.
8. No warranty
The Site and the Application are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, Strata disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non‑infringement. We do not warrant that the Site or Application will be uninterrupted or error‑free, or that information on the Site — including any description of acreage, production, wells, units, or valuation — is complete or current. Public oil and gas records change and contain errors.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Strata will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or lost business opportunity, arising out of your use of the Site or the Application, even if we were advised such damages were possible. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site will not exceed one hundred dollars ($100). Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, and nothing here limits either party’s obligations under a signed purchase and sale agreement, which stands on its own terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict‑of‑laws rules. Any dispute relating to the Site or the Application will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Ohio, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts. This section does not alter the governing law or venue of any separate agreement between you and Strata.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. The revised version will be posted here with a new date, and applies to use of the Site and Application after it is posted.
